John Hayman

John Hayman is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Capital Advantage. He is an Investment Advisor Representative as well as part of the investment team.

As a direct response to what he saw as a lack of client focus in the financial services industry, John created what is now Capital Advantage, Inc. in 1982. He is proud to have successfully built an independent investment firm that acts as a fiduciary and strives to provide financial peace of mind to each and every client.

Now that he is supported by an experienced team of financial advisors and a skilled support staff, John spends as much time with his family as possible. He lives with his wife in Orinda, and has two adult daughters. His love of animals is evidenced by his devotion to his long-coat German Shepard, Heidi, who serves as the Chief Welcoming Officer—greeting employees and visitors—at Capital Advantage.

When he’s not cheering court-side at a Cal Berkeley game, John can be found enjoying the great outdoors by boat, motorcycle or foot. John loves sharing about his latest Bay Area hiking trail discoveries.
